Galvanized Steel Plate

Galvanized Steel Plate

Galvanized Steel Plate Supplier

We supply galvanized steel plate from 3 to 25 mm thick. Plate is either cut from line-galvanized coil or hot-dipped after cutting, in sizes up to 2000 × 6000 mm.

Two routes: line-coated plate to 4.0 mm, batch-dipped plate above that

Zinc measured in µm on every lot, to ISO 1461 or ASTM A123

Q235B, Q355B, S235JR, S355JR and ASTM A36 base plate

Plate cut, drilled and dipped to your drawing, so no bare edges

Why Order Galv Steel Plate From Us

01

The Right Route for Your Thickness

Thin plate comes off a continuous line with an even, smooth coat. Heavy plate is dipped in a zinc bath after cutting. We tell you which route fits your part and your budget.

02

Edges and Holes Coated Too

Cutting line-coated plate leaves bare steel edges. When your part needs full cover, we cut and drill first, then dip. The zinc reaches every face, edge and hole.

03

Base Plate From Named Mills

Black plate comes from named mills. Heat numbers follow the plate through dipping onto your certificate.

04

Flatness Checked After Dipping

Hot zinc can bend thin, wide plate. We check flatness after dipping and level where needed.

05

21 Days From Order to Port

Stock plate ships in 5 days. Cut-and-dipped parts take 3 weeks, depending on your drawing.

Galvanized Steel Plate close-up

Galvanised Steel Plate for Heavy Outdoor Parts

Galvanised steel plate is carbon or mild steel plate with a zinc coat. It carries load like black plate. It also resists rust for decades without paint.

That makes galvanized mild steel plate the usual choice for base plates, brackets and tower parts. Trailer beds, platforms and solar mounts use it too. You skip site painting and the repaint cycle that follows. For a part that must last outdoors, a thick zinc layer is cheaper over its life than paint.

Line-Galvanized Plate, 0.09–4.0 mm

Cut from continuous-line coil, often called galvanized sheet plate. Even coat, clean surface, Z180–Z275.

Stack of hot-dip galvanized steel plates

Hot-Dipped Plate, 5–25 mm

Black plate dipped after cutting. Thick coat of 85 µm or more for structures and towers.

Galvanized Steel Panels

Galvanized Steel Panels

Plate and heavy sheet cut to panel sizes for walls, guards and enclosures. Galvanized sheet metal panels in lighter gauges come from our sheet range.

Line-Galvanized or Dipped After Cutting: Which Plate Do You Need?

Ask two suppliers for "galvanized steel plate" and you may get two different products. One sends plate cut from coated coil. The other dips black plate after cutting. Both are correct, but they suit different jobs.

Plate Cut From Galvanized Coil

Continuous lines coat steel strip up to about 4 mm thick. The coat is even and smooth, usually Z180 to Z275. That is about 13 to 20 µm per side.

This plate is flat, clean and lower in cost. It suits panels, covers and parts that will be painted. The weak point is the edges. Every cut and every hole exposes bare steel. Small edges are protected by the nearby zinc, but large cut faces on thick plate are not.

Plate Dipped After Cutting

For heavier plate, the steel is cut and drilled first. Then the whole part goes into molten zinc. The coat is much thicker, often 85 µm or more on plate above 6 mm. It covers every edge and hole.

This is the route for towers, bridges, base plates and anything that stays outdoors for decades. It costs more, and the surface is rougher and duller. Thin, wide plates may warp in the bath, so we suggest a minimum thickness for each size.

When to Choose Which

Choose line-galvanized plate if your part is under 4 mm, will be painted, or needs a smooth face. Choose plate dipped after cutting if it is thicker, carries load outdoors, or has many holes. If you are unsure, send the drawing and the site location. Coastal and industrial sites need the heavier coat.

Grade and Strength

Coating does not change strength much. Order the grade your design needs, such as S355JR or A36. Then name the coat. Steels with high silicon can grow a very thick, brittle zinc layer. We check base plate chemistry before dipping.

Tread Plate: Grip and Coat

Galvanized tread plate is dipped after rolling, so the pattern is fully covered. It gives safe footing on wet steps and ramps. For indoor floors where weight matters, consider aluminum tread plate instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between galvanized sheet and galvanized plate?

Thickness is the main line. Most suppliers call it sheet below about 3 mm and plate above that. Plate also often means dipped after cutting. If your drawing says "plate", give the thickness, and we will confirm the route.

How thick is the zinc on galvanized steel plate?

Line-galvanized plate carries about 13–20 µm per side at Z180–Z275. Plate dipped after cutting usually carries 85 µm or more, set by ISO 1461 or ASTM A123 by thickness. Send your spec value.

Can you galvanize S355 plate?

Yes, in most cases. The silicon and phosphorus content controls how the zinc grows. We check the mill certificate before dipping. Very high-silicon steel may get a thick, grey coat, which is normal.

Will the plate warp during hot-dip galvanizing?

Thin plate with a large area can bow in the bath. Plates above 6 mm rarely do. We level after dipping where needed. Tell us your flatness limit, and we will plan for it.

Do you supply galvanised checker plate?

Yes. We supply diamond and teardrop patterns, dipped after cutting. Standard sizes are 1250 × 2500 and 1500 × 3000 mm. Other sizes are cut to order.

How much does galvanized steel plate cost?

Price depends on thickness, size, grade and coating route. Dipping after cutting costs more than line coating. Steel and zinc prices move week to week. Send your plate list, and we will quote within 8 working hours.
