Look at
Why
Pressure piping or structures at the lowest cost
Carbon steel pipe & tube
Strong and weldable; paint or coat it outdoors
Outdoor frames, fences or water lines with rust protection
Galvanized steel pipe & tube
Zinc covers inside and out on hot-dip pipe
Hygiene, chemicals, high heat or a visible finish
Stainless steel pipe & tube
The alloy resists corrosion with no coating to damage
A common mistake we see: buying galvanized pipe, then welding it on site. Welding burns off the zinc at the joint. If your design is all welded, ask about welding black pipe and galvanizing after, or switch to stainless.
Pipe or Tube: How to Order
The words overlap, but they are sized differently.
Pipe is ordered by nominal size (NPS or DN) and wall schedule, such as 2" Sch 40. It is built for carrying fluids.
Tube is ordered by the actual outside diameter and wall thickness, such as 50.8 × 1.5 mm. It is used for structures, frames and mechanical parts.
If you are not sure which one your drawing means, send the outside diameter in mm. We will match it to the right size system.
Seamless or welded? Seamless pipe & tube has no weld seam, so it suits high pressure and high temperature. Welded (ERW) pipe & tube costs less and covers most structural and low-pressure jobs. Choose seamless only when the code or pressure rating asks for it.

Tube laser cutting: lengths, holes, slots and miters in one pass. Send a 3D file if your tube has angled ends.
Welding: TIG and MIG welding of frames and assemblies, with pickling and passivation for stainless.
Polishing: OD and ID polishing on stainless tube to Ra 0.8 μm.
All three are covered on our steel processing capabilities page.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between steel pipe and steel tube?
Pipe is sized by nominal diameter and schedule, and it mainly carries fluids. Tube is sized by actual outside diameter and wall thickness, and it is mainly used in structures and machines. Both can be round, and both can be seamless or welded.
Can you cut pipe & tube to my lengths?
Yes. We cut to fixed lengths, and our tube laser also cuts holes, slots and miters. It handles OD 10–350 mm, walls up to 10 mm and tubes up to 9 m long.
Which standards do you supply steel pipe to?
We supply to ASTM, EN and other international standards. Common examples are ASTM A53 and A106 for carbon pipe and ASTM A312 for stainless. Tell us the standard on your drawing and we will confirm the grade.
How do I get a steel pipe price?
Send material, grade, size (NPS + schedule or OD × wall), length, end type, quantity and destination port. For standard products we reply within 2–4 working hours.
