What You Get From Our Own Plant

01

We Control Each Step

Thickness and temper are set on our own rolling and annealing lines. Width, edge, coil weight and brushed finish are set on our own finishing lines. We adjust each step to your order.

02

Prime Base Coil, Held in Stock

Our base coil is prime material, supplied with the mill test certificate for each lot. Steady long-term supply keeps it on hand for your repeat orders.

03

Checked After Every Step

We check dimensions after every processing step, with calipers, tape and CMM. The surface is inspected under light before packing. You receive the mill certificate plus our processing report.

04

Capacity and Loading on Our Own Site

We process up to 100,000 tons a month, slitting base coil from our own Wuxi warehouses as soon as your order is confirmed. Our own cranes load each container, and orders ship from Shanghai, Qingdao or Tianjin.

Stainless Steel Strips Manufacturers close-up

From Mill Coil to Finished Strip

Most stainless steel strip suppliers buy slit strip and resell it. That works for standard sizes. It does not work when you need a special width, a set coil weight or a fixed delivery date.

For those, someone must slit and recoil the coil to your spec. As stainless steel strip coil manufacturers, we do that in-house. We finish wide prime coil to the width, edge and coil weight you need, starting from coil already in our own stock.

This matters most for narrow widths, tight width tolerance and coil weights matched to your decoiler. In those orders, the processing is worth more than the base steel.

How Stainless Strip Is Made, and What to Ask a Strip Manufacturer

Many stainless steel strips manufacturers look the same on their websites. The real differences are in the process steps they own. This guide walks through each step and the question to ask at each one.

Step 1: Base Coil

All stainless strip starts as wide coil. The base coil sets the chemistry, cleanliness and much of the surface.

Step 2: Cold Re-Rolling

The base coil is rolled thinner to the final gauge. Thin and precision strip needs multi-roll mills, such as 20-high Sendzimir mills. These hold thickness much better than a standard 4-high mill.

Rolling also sets the temper. More reduction gives harder strip.

Step 3: Annealing

Rolling hardens the steel. Annealing softens it again, either between passes or at the end. Bright annealing uses a protective gas, so the strip comes out clean and shiny.

Strip sold in a hard temper skips the final anneal. Strip sold soft or in BA finish must go through it.

Step 4: Leveling

Rolling and annealing leave stress in the strip. A tension leveler stretches it slightly, so it lies flat. Without leveling, parts can curl after you stamp them.

Step 5: Slitting and Edge Work

The wide strip is slit into narrow widths. Precision slitters hold width to a few hundredths of a millimeter. The knives also decide burr height. Some makers then deburr or round the edges.

Step 6: Testing and Packing

A strip maker should test every lot, not every month. At least thickness, width, hardness and surface. For spring strip, also tensile and bend tests.

Processor or Stockist: Which Do You Need?

If you need special widths, set coil weights or a steady monthly supply, work with a processor that owns its slitting lines and warehouses. It can change the slit to meet your spec and hold buffer stock for you.

If you buy standard 304 or 430 strip in common sizes, a supplier with real stock can also serve you. Check that the stock exists and the sizes fit your range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a stainless steel strip manufacturer?

Yes. MTS is a steel processing and supply company in Wuxi. Weprocess stainless strip on our own lines. That includes 10 slitting, 7 recoiling and 20 cut-to-length lines. Base coil is prime material, and we hold 7,000 tons of stainless coil stock in Wuxi.

What is your minimum order as a strip manufacturer?

Special widths and coil weights are planned per slitting set-up, so we group them by size. Standard slit strip from stock can ship in smaller lots. Send your sizes and quantities, and we will confirm.

How long does it take to produce custom strip?

Slit and recoiled strip from stock coil ships in 8–12 working days, often faster. Special tempers or gauges take longer, depending on grade and size. We confirm the date with the order.

Can you produce to our own specification, not a standard?

Yes. We can work to your drawing or company spec, as long as it is within our processing range. Send it with your inquiry. We will mark any point we cannot meet before quoting, and reply within 2–4 working hours.
