What Kind of GI Coil Supplier We Are

01

Galvanizing Line Owner

MTS (Meitousi Metal Materials Limited) is a steel group in Wuxi, Jiangsu. Our 60,000 m² site holds production, warehousing and processing. We run a continuous hot-dip galvanizing line that coats 20,000 tons a month, and we slit, recoil and color coat coil in the same plant.

02

A Line You Can See

Your coil is coated on our own line, not bought in from an unnamed mill. Repeat orders run on the same line to the same spec.

03

One Team From Order to Arrival

One contact handles your order booking, inspection, loading, documents and claims.

04

Documents Ready for Customs

Mill certificates, commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin on request.

Galvanized Steel Coil Suppliers close-up

A Supply Program, Not a One-Off Cargo

Many buyers test new galvanized steel coil suppliers with one container first. What keeps them is what happens on the fifth and tenth order. The coat, the surface and the coil weight should not drift.

We work best with buyers who order every month. You give us a rolling forecast. We book line time ahead and hold your spec on file. When your market moves, you change widths or coats without starting over.

How to Choose Galvanized Steel Coil Manufacturers and Suppliers

Galvanized coil is a commodity. That makes galvanized coil suppliers look alike on paper. The differences show up in coat, consistency and how problems get solved.

Ask Who Owns the Galvanizing Line

Galvanized coil has two steps: rolling the steel and coating it. One company may roll, and another may galvanize. Many traders buy from both.

So ask a direct question. Whose line coats my coil? A real GI coil manufacturer can name its line and show it. A trader should name the mill. Either can be a good partner. A supplier who will not name the source is a risk.

Check How Zinc Is Priced

Zinc moves on its own market, apart from steel. On heavy coats, zinc is a large share of the price. Ask whether quotes are fixed, or linked to zinc on the booking date.

A fixed price is simple, but suppliers add a margin for risk. A zinc-linked price is fairer on long programs. Know which one you are signing.

Verify the Coat, Not Just the Certificate

Coat weight is the easiest spec to cut, because thin zinc looks the same as thick. Most GI coil suppliers send a certificate, but fewer send test data you can check. Ask for the triple-spot result per coil. On a first order, pay for a third-party coat test on a few coils. It costs little and shows whether the paperwork is real.

Look at How They Load Coils

Coils are heavy for their size. A 20-foot container takes about 25-28 tons, often as 4– 6 coils. They must sit in steel cradles or on wooden saddles, lashed so they cannot roll. Ask for loading photos from the last few shipments. Poor lashing causes dented coils and crushed edges.

Ask About White Rust Claims

White rust is the most common claim on GI coil. It comes from water, often condensation in the container. Ask the supplier how they pack for long sea routes. Then ask how a white rust claim is handled. A good galvanized steel coil factory or distributor has a clear answer to both.

Factory or Distributor: Which Suits You?

Buying direct from a factory gives the best price on full mill orders. It also means longer lead times and fixed minimums. A galvanized steel coil distributor costs a little more. In return, you get stock, mixed sizes and smaller lots. Many importers use both: the mill for steady sizes, a distributor for gaps. The same applies to GI steel coil manufacturers who also run stock yards.

Test With One Order First

Start with one container in your most common spec. Inspect it closely on arrival. Run a few coils through your line. Then move to a monthly program with the supplier who passed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a GI coil manufacturer or a trading company?

We are a steel group with our own continuous hot-dip galvanizing line in Wuxi, Jiangsu, coating 20,000 tons a month. We also slit, recoil and color coat coil in the same plant, so you deal with the GI coil manufacturer, not a middleman.

Which mills do your galvanized coils come from?

We coat every coil on our own hot-dip galvanizing line in Wuxi. The cold-rolled base coil comes from. Each certificate traces the coil by its coil number, and repeat orders run on the same line.

Can a small distributor buy from you?

Yes. We take small trial orders as well as bulk programs. Our minimum is 10 tons, or one 20-foot container. Mixed sizes are allowed in one load. Smaller lots may come from our stock in Wuxi.

How long does a factory order take?

Typical lead time is 8–12 working days, and shorter for sizes in stock. The exact date depends on the spec and our line schedule, and we confirm it with your quote.

Do you offer long-term supply contracts?

Yes. We support monthly or quarterly long-term supply arrangements with fixed agreed specifications. Many customers tie the price to steel and zinc market indices.
