Base Tube Cut and Polished in Our Plant
Our tube laser cuts lengths, holes and slots up to 350 mm OD and 9 m long, and we brush or polish the base tube before coating. We keep 3,000 tons of stainless pipe & tube in stock (out of 80,000 tons in total) in our Wuxi warehouses.
Metal Color That Lasts
PVD coats stainless with a thin, hard layer of metal compounds, such as titanium nitride. The color is part of the surface, not a paint on top. It resists fading and wear far better than paint or plating.

Ordering Rose Gold and Colored Stainless Steel Pipe & Tube
Pick the Base Finish First
PVD color is very thin. It copies the surface under it. On mirror tube, rose gold looks like polished copper. On hairline tube, it looks like brushed bronze.
Ask for a sample on each base finish before you decide. The same color code can look very different on the two.
How Durable Is PVD Color?
Indoors, PVD color on stainless lasts for years with normal cleaning. It is harder than the steel underneath.
Abrasive pads, strong acids and chlorine cleaners can damage it. Clean with water, mild soap and a soft cloth. On handrails that see heavy use, ask for an anti-fingerprint top coat.
Indoor or Outdoor?
For indoor use, colored 304 is fine.
Outdoors, choose 316 as the base. Sun, rain and salt are hard on any coating. If the base rusts at a scratch, the color lifts around it. Near the sea, check with us before you order colored pipe & tube for exterior railings.
Welding and Cutting Colored Tube
Welding burns off the color around the joint. That spot cannot be recoated on site. Plan your design to avoid welds on visible colored faces.
Use mechanical joints, clamps or fittings where possible. Or weld and polish plain tube first, then send the finished assemblies for coating. Cut ends should be capped or covered.
Railing Basics
A stainless steel pipe railing must meet the local code for height and load. Most handrails are 38 to 50 mm OD, so a hand can wrap around them. Posts are usually 50 mm round or 40–50 mm square.
For pools, coastal homes and boats, use 316. Marine tubing in 316 resists salt spray far better than 304. For indoor stairs and balconies, 304 is enough.
Color Matching Across Orders
PVD color varies slightly between coating runs. To keep a project consistent, order all visible parts in one batch. If you must order later, send us the batch number from the first case label.

Is rose gold stainless steel pipe real gold?
No. The color comes from a PVD coating of metal compounds on stainless. It contains no gold. It costs far less and does not tarnish like brass.
Will the color fade?
Indoors, PVD color does not fade under normal light. Abrasive cleaners and scratches can damage it. Outdoors, choose 316 and expect some change over many years in harsh sun or salt.
Can I get black stainless steel pipe & tube?
Yes. Black is made by PVD, in satin or mirror. It shows fingerprints more than gold, so an anti-fingerprint coat is recommended.
What is the best ss pipe for railing outdoors?
316 round or square tube with brushed or mirror finish. Use 1.5–2.0 mm wall for handrails and posts. For colored outdoor railings, check coating life with us first.
Can you supply colored tube in custom lengths?
Yes, up to the length our coating chamber takes, about 12 m. Cut lengths reduce waste and avoid cutting colored tube on site.
