We supply spangled galvanised steel with regular or large spangle, from 0.09 mm in coil and 0.25 mm in sheet, up to 3.0 mm. Zinc runs from Z40 to Z275, up to Z600, with a bright, crystal finish meant for bare use.

Regular spangle or large spangle, kept consistent across the order

Coating weight checked on every order and printed on the mill test certificate

Chromated passivation to keep the bright look and stop white rust in transit

Sheet cut to size or coil on 508 / 610 mm ID, recoiled to 4–5 ton small coils or 8–10 ton large coils (up to 12 tons)

Why Buy Galvanized Spangle Sheet From Us

01

Even Spangle Across the Coil

A patchy pattern looks like a defect to your customer. We set the spangle on our own galvanizing line and check it at inspection.

02

Bright Finish That Stays Bright

Passivation protects the shine through sea freight and storage. You open the pack to clean, silver steel.

03

Coat Weight on Paper

The spangle shows zinc is there. The certificate shows how much. Coating weight is checked on every order and printed.

04

Coated on Our Own Line

Our spangled sheet and coil are coated on our own continuous hot-dip line in Wuxi, 20,000 tons a month. Each pack tag lists grade, size, coat and spangle type.

05

8–12 Working Days Lead Time

Regular and large spangle ship in 8–12 working days, and faster for sizes in stock.

What Galvanized Steel Spangle Is

Spangle is the pattern of zinc crystals on galvanized steel. Spangle galvanized steel shows it clearly, as bright, flower-like flakes. As the coated strip cools, the zinc freezes into flake-like grains. Small amounts of lead or antimony in the bath let these grains grow large and visible.

In many markets, a clear zinc spangle is what buyers expect galvanized steel to look like. It reads as “real” galvanizing. It also hides small surface marks and handling scuffs. That makes spangled sheet a natural choice for bare ducts, roofing and farm buildings.

Spangle Types

Regular Spangle (Normal Spangle)

Regular Spangle (Normal Spangle)

Medium crystals of 3–5 mm, the most common look. Marked "N" under EN 10346.

Large Spangle Galvanized Sheet

Large Spangle Galvanized Sheet

Big, bright crystals of 5–15 mm and more. Popular for bare sheet in South Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Regular Spangle Galvanized Steel Coil

Regular Spangle Galvanized Steel Coil

Coil for roll formers, duct lines and slitters, in Z40 to Z275. Coils come on 508 or 610 mm ID and are recoiled to 4–5 ton small coils or 8–10 ton large coils (up to 12 tons), so they fit your decoiler. Slit coil from 15 mm wide.

Spangled GI Sheet

Spangled GI Sheet

Flat sheet cut to 4 × 8 ft, 1 × 2 m or your size, for fabrication and resale.

Choosing a Spangled Surface for Your Market

The spangle choice looks cosmetic. In export trade, it often decides whether your own customers accept the steel. Here is how to choose.

Bare Use: Spangle Is an Advantage

When galvanized sheet is used without paint, spangle helps. It gives a bright, lively finish. It hides small scratches from handling and forming. And in many markets, end users read it as proof of a good zinc coat.

That is why bare duct sheet, roofing accessories, grain bins and fence sheets often use regular or large spangle. If your customers inspect by eye, give them the look they trust.

Painted Use: Think Twice

Spangle can show through thin paint as a faint pattern. The crystal edges also make the surface less uniform for paint. For coil coating, appliance panels and powder coating, choose zero spangle instead. For thick, textured paint on industrial parts, regular spangle is usually fine.

Spangle Does Not Mean More Zinc

A big spangle does not mean a heavy coat. Spangle size comes from the bath chemistry and cooling. Zinc weight comes from the air knives. A Z80 sheet can show large spangle, and a Z275 sheet can show none.

So always order the coat class as well as the spangle. If a supplier quotes “heavy spangle” without a Z or G number, ask for it.

Lead in the Bath

Traditional large spangle relies on lead in the zinc bath. Some markets now limit lead in products such as toys and food contact parts. Our line uses an antimony-based bath, so you get a bright spangle without relying on lead.

Storage and White Rust

Bright spangled sheet shows white rust easily if packs get wet. Keep packs dry and off the ground. Use chromated or chrome-free passivation for long sea routes. Open wet packs at once and let the sheets dry apart.

Frequently Asked Questions

What causes spangle in galvanized steel?

Spangle forms as molten zinc cools and freezes into crystals. Elements such as lead or antimony in the bath let the crystals grow large. Slow cooling also helps. The pattern you see is the zinc's own crystal structure.

Is spangle in GI sheet a sign of quality?

Not by itself. An even, bright spangle shows a well-run line. But spangle in gi sheet says nothing about coat weight. Check the Z or G class on the certificate to judge protection.

What is the difference between regular and large spangle?

Regular spangle has medium crystals, a few millimetres across. Large spangle has crystals of a centimetre or more. Large spangle looks brighter and more decorative. Both protect the same at the same coat weight.

Can spangle sheet metal be painted?

Yes, with good preparation, especially for thick paints. For thin paint films, the pattern may show through. For coil coating or appliance panels, we suggest zero spangle instead.

Are you regular spangle galvanized steel coil manufacturers?

Yes. We coat regular spangle galvanized steel coil on our own continuous hot-dip line in Wuxi, 20,000 tons a month, and ship it with a mill test certificate. Regular spangle galvanized steel is a standard surface on our line, so supply is steady. Send your coat, size and coil weight.

Do you supply GI spangle sheet in large spangle?

Yes. We make large spangle on our own line, with a lead time of 8–12 working days. Send the thickness, coat and quantity, and a photo of the look your market wants.
