Why Buy PPGI Steel Coil From Us

01

Width Matched to Your Profile

Tell us your roof or wall profile. We confirm the coil width it needs, such as 1000, 1219 or 1250 mm, before booking.

02

One Batch Per Colour Per Order

Coils of one colour on one order come from one paint batch where possible. Panels from different coils sit side by side without a visible shift.

03

Paint That Survives Your Rolls

We test bend and impact on each coil. Paint that cracks on a tight rib is caught here, not on your line.

04

Protective Film on Request

Peelable film on the top side protects the paint through slitting, forming and transport. It is common for matt and dark colours.

05

A Prepainted Galvanized Steel Coil Factory You Can Check

MTS is a steel group in Wuxi, Jiangsu, with a 60,000 m² site for production, warehousing and processing. Our colour coating line runs PE, SMP, HDP, PVDF and PU paint at 15,000 tons a month. Video inspection or third-party checks are welcome before loading.

PPGI Coil close-up

Prepainted Steel Coil Built for Continuous Lines

A PPGI coil is galvanized steel strip, painted on both sides on a coil coating line, then rewound. Markets call it ppgi steel coil, pre painted galvanized steel coil or color coated galvanized steel coil. Some buyers say PPGI coated coil or color coated galvanized steel roll. All mean the same product.

Coil suits any line that forms continuously. Roll formers make corrugated and trapezoidal sheets. Panel lines laminate it onto foam or rock wool cores. Door plants roll slats. In each case, the paint is already on. Your line only shapes and cuts.

Choosing the paint system itself is covered on our PPGI page. This page focuses on getting the coil onto your machine and through it without trouble.

How to Buy PPGI Coil That Runs Clean on Your Line

A roof sheet that cracks at the rib costs far more than the coil. So does a wall panel that changes shade halfway along. Both problems start at the order stage. Here is what we check with every coil customer.

Width First, Then Thickness

Your profile decides your coil width. A corrugated sheet and a trapezoidal sheet of the same cover width need different coil widths. Send the profile drawing or the machine’s entry width.

Too wide, and you trim edges and pay for scrap. Too narrow, and the sheet comes out short of cover. A 5 mm mistake on width repeats on every metre you run.

For decoiler limits and how coil length relates to weight, see our Galvanized Steel Coil page. The same rules apply to painted coil. If your decoiler takes lighter coils than the mill makes, we recoil the master coil to your weight.

Colour Consistency Across Coils

One coil rarely covers a building. Ten coils from three batches often do. If batches differ, the roof shows stripes in low sun.

Agree on three things before ordering. First, a signed colour panel each side keeps. Second, a written ΔE limit, for example ΔE ≤ 1.0. Third, one batch per colour per order, or batches marked clearly so your crew does not mix them on one roof.

Will the Paint Survive Forming?

Paint on flat steel can look perfect and still crack on a tight rib. That is why bend and impact results matter for coil.

For deep trapezoidal ribs and glazed tile profiles, ask for a low T-bend value, such as ≤ 2T, and check it against the paint maker’s data sheet. For shallow corrugated sheets, a higher T is usually fine. Cold workshops make paint stiffer. In winter, warm coils indoors before running them.

Back Coat: Decide by What Faces It

The back coat is the hidden half of the coil. For single-skin roofs, the back faces warehouse air and condensation. A 7–10 µm polyester back coat holds up better there than a thin wash coat.

For sandwich panels, the back bonds to foam. Ask your foam supplier which back coat they need. A wrong back coat can lead to panels delaminating after months.

Protective Film and Handling

Matt and dark colours mark easily. A peelable film keeps rolls, guides and stacking from scratching them. Remove the film within the period stated by the film maker. Film left in the sun can bond to the paint.

On arrival, check the outer wraps and the coil edges. Crushed edges cause wavy sheet edges on the line.

Color Coated Steel Coil and Hot Dip Galvanized Steel Coil Together

Many roll formers run both. Painted coil makes the sheet, while bare coil makes purlins, flashings or hidden trims. Buying color coated steel coil and hot dip galvanized steel coil from one supplier simplifies loading. It also keeps zinc coat and steel grade consistent across your job.

How to Compare PPGI Coil Price Quotes

PPGI coil price starts with the galvanized base, then adds paint and processing. Three quotes for “0.4 mm RAL 9002” can differ for good reasons.

Check whether 0.4 mm is base metal or total thickness. Check zinc coat, top film microns and back coat. Check whether coil weight is net or includes packing. Check whether film is included.

A coated PPGI coil price that looks low often hides thin paint or a lighter zinc coat. Ask each supplier to quote against the same full spec line, with every item above written out.

Choosing Among PPGI Coil Suppliers

The market has many prepainted steel coil manufacturers and many traders. Both can work. Ask three questions.

Who owns the coating line, and which paint brand runs on it? Can you see ΔE and T-bend values from a recent order? What happens if colour falls outside the agreed limit?

A good prepainted galvanized coil supplier answers all three in writing. So should any prepainted galvanized steel coil manufacturers or PPGI steel coil manufacturers you shortlist.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a PPGI coil sheet?

It usually means PPGI coil that will be cut into sheets. Some buyers use it for both coil and flat sheet. If you need cut sheets, tell us the length and quantity per bundle. If you need coil, give the coil ID and weight.

What is the standard PPGI coil weight?

There is no single standard. Coils come on 508 or 610 mm ID, and we recoil master coils to the weight your line can take. Heavier coils mean fewer changeovers. Lighter coils suit small cranes and slitting lines. Tell us your decoiler's maximum before ordering.

Can PPGI coil be slit to narrow widths?

Yes. Our slitting line cuts strip down to 20 mm wide for trims, gutters and slats. Tell us your unwinding direction. Slitting can scratch paint, so ask for protective film on dark or matt colours.

How do I store PPGI coils?

Indoors, dry, off the floor, eye horizontal. Keep away from cement, fertiliser and salt. Plan to form them within about six months, because paint flexibility drops with long storage. Do not stack coils on top of each other without proper cradles.

Do you supply prepainted galvanized steel coil in small quantities?

Our minimum is 10 tons per colour and size. Special colours need a full paint batch, so the minimum is higher.

What affects prepainted galvanized steel coil price?

Base steel and zinc prices move most. Then paint system, film thickness, colour, width and order size add their share. PVDF and custom colours cost more. A coated galvanized coil price changes week to week. Send your spec and quantity for a current quote.
