Why Source 316L Coil From MTS
01
Chemistry Checked Against Your Tube Standard
We check the certificate against the standard you name, such as ASTM A269 or EN 10217-7, before shipping. Gaps are flagged before the coil leaves.
02
Coils Slit for Tube Widths
Our 10 slitting lines cut mill coils to your strip width for each tube size, from 20mm up. Burr height, width tolerance and unwinding direction are agreed before slitting.
03
Clean Packing for Sanitary Use
316L BA and 2B coils are film-protected and packed dry. Your tube line receives coil free of rust spots and handling marks.
04
Capacity Behind Your Tube Program
We process up to 100,000 tons a month and keep 80,000 tons of steel in our Wuxi warehouses. Slit 316L ships in 8–12 working days, loaded by our own cranes.

316L Stainless Steel Coil
Low carbon (≤0.030%) for welded tube and tanks. The most ordered 316 coil. Example: 316L 2B coil, 1.5mm × 1240mm, ID 610mm.
316/316L Dual-Certified Coil
Meets both grades on one certificate. One coil can go to welded and non-welded jobs.
316L BA Coil
Bright annealed for sanitary tube and polished fittings. Lower roughness before polishing.
316Ti Coil
Titanium-stabilized for service at higher temperatures. Common in European specs (EN 1.4571).
316L Hot Rolled Coil
No.1 finish, 3.0–16.0mm standard, up to 20mm on request, for thick tube, flanges and cut plates.
316L Slit Coil
Slit to your tube width, with burr and width tolerance agreed in advance.

Ordering 316L Coil for Tube and Heat Exchanger Lines
A tube mill running 316L coil has little room for error. A bad coil can mean a rejected batch of tube, not just a scrapped sheet. This guide covers what to put on your purchase order.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 316L coil better than 316 coil for welded tube?
Yes, in most cases. 316L has lower carbon, so the weld zone keeps its corrosion resistance. Dual-certified 316/316L coil gives you both. Plain 316 is chosen mainly for its slightly higher strength in non-welded parts.
Do you have 316 stainless steel coil in stock?
316L 2B coil is part of our 7,000 tons of stainless coil stock in Wuxi. Other sizes, BA finish and hot rolled 316L are rolled to order. Send your size and we will check stock first.
Why is the 316 coil price so much higher than 304?
316 contains more nickel (10–14% vs 8–10.5%) and 2–3% molybdenum. Both are expensive alloying metals. When either market rises, the 316 price moves faster than 304.
Can 316L coil be used for heat exchanger tube?
Yes. 316L is a common heat exchanger tube grade for mild chloride service. Name the tube standard on the order. For seawater cooling, ask us about duplex coil instead.
Can I order several 316L slit widths at once?
Yes. Mixed widths from the same mother coil can share one order. Tell us your widths, from 20mm up, and we will plan the slitting.
